South Charleston officially moves games on campus

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Officials at South Charleston High on Tuesday officially announced the school will play its home football games this season at its campus field, rather than at Oakes Field.

Several details still need to be finalized before the season at the field, including placing stalls to the bathrooms and installing the 25-second play clocks. Further upgrades are planned for the facility in the coming years, but the goal for this year is simply to have home games on campus.

South Charleston’s first home game is set for September 6th against St. Albans. Other home games include Nitro, Capital, Parkersburg and Winfield.

The Black Eagles will be in year one under head football coach Donnie Mays who took over for John Messinger.
