Human remains found in Nicholas County shed

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police said human remains were discovered Wednesday in Nicholas County.

The remains were found in a storage unit at the “Stor-All” facility off Old U.S. Route 19 in Summersville. Police said the remains were discovered by the owner of the building.

Police believe the remains may belong to one of two missing women from Alabama. Mary Cobb, 105, and her daughter, Wynona Delvecchio, 85, (ages approximate), were reported missing in 2002.

The remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

The West Virginia State Police continues to investigate.
