Three more states to recognize WV concealed weapons permits

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Three more states have agreed to recognize West Virginia concealed handgun permits.

State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced Wednesday the agreements with Alabama, Georgia and Colorado.

West Virginia recently reached an agreement with Georgia and Colorado for full reciprocity meaning those states recognize West Virginia concealed carry permits, and West Virginia recognizes similar permits issued in those states.

A new law in Alabama went into effect earlier this month that recognizes all out-of-state concealed handgun permits. West Virginia is currently working with Alabama to secure full reciprocity.

Georgia and Colorado become the 26th and 27th states to have full reciprocity agreements with the State of West Virginia.
