Investigators: Shooting victim shot himself

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — State Police said the man who was shot at Morris Park in Marion County on Thursday afternoon shot himself before driving to Fairmont General Hospital to be treated for the wound.

It happened on Thursday afternoon and prompted the closure of Morris Park as investigators looked for the gun that was used.

The man’s condition was not known on Friday morning.
