HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The westbound lanes of Interstate 64 reopened in Cabell County late Friday night following a tractor trailer accident that shut down the busy stretch of highway for almost five hours.
It happened in Huntington.
Officials said a tractor trailer flipped on its side at about 5 p.m. Friday in the construction zone between the 29th Street and Hal Greer Boulevard exits. Reports indicated that truck got caught on a guardrail after running over a hill.
Because of the road closure, Friday evening traffic was backed up for miles along I-64.
The driver of the truck was being treated for minor injuries.
