FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The long time circuit clerk in Marion County is retiring.

After 26 years in office, Marion County Circuit Clerk Barbara Core will retire on August 30.

A ceremony honoring her years of service will take place at 2 p.m. on August 28, in the Division II Courtroom of the Marion County Courthouse in Fairmont. Her replacement will also be announced and sworn in at that time.

    She is a very odd politician because she actually loved her job, her employees and the citizens of Marion County! This includes all those that travel to Fairmont for business in the Clerk's office.
