Former Glasgow police officer accused of trading drugs for sex

GLASGOW, W.Va. — A former Glasgow police officer has been arrested for allegedly trading drugs for sex while on the job.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, James Leonard Koch, 54, of Dixie, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

The complaint said that Koch and a woman were seen on August 5 in his cruiser exchanging narcotics for oral sex.

Officials with the police department said that Koch was released earlier this week for reasons unrelated to the alleged cruiser incident. Koch’s wife claims he was fired due to age discrimination.

Koch is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
