Jefferson County police looking for two men spotted near schools

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Police in the eastern panhandle and Virginia were looking for two men Friday who allegedly try to get inside two Jefferson County elementary schools.

The men were seen around Shepherdstown and Blue Ridge elementary schools. They spoke with a crossing guard in one case.

Jefferson County schools were never on lockdown. Schools in neighboring Berkeley County were placed on modified lockdown.

Jefferson County police notified police in Virginia about the incident.
