Murdered Wheeling Jesuit student to be remembered Saturday

HILLTOWN, Pa. — A slain Wheeling Jesuit student will be remembered Saturday in Pennsylvania during a funeral Mass.

Kevin Figaniak, 21, of Perkasie, Pa., died Sunday at a Pittsburgh hospital from injuries sustained in an attack in Wheeling.

Figaniak’s family has established a memorial fund at the university in his memory.

Figaniak was a senior business major at Wheeling Jesuit University. He played on the school’s varsity lacrosse team and also was a member of the school’s club hockey team.

The funeral Mass for Figaniak is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hilltown, Pa.
