Grief counselors at Parkersburg school after student’s death

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Wood County school counselors spent Friday at Jackson Middle School in Parkersburg a day after a student’s death.

Authorities said a seventh-grade girl collapsed during a city league soccer game and later died at a Parkersburg hospital.

The Wood County schools crisis plan was put into effect Friday for students at staff at Jackson Middle.
