Interstate 64 shutdown scheduled

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The state Division of Highways says busy Interstate 64 in Huntington will close up to two hours Monday evening as crews reinstall utility lines that were knocked down in a construction zone Monday morning.

A dump truck with its bed up pulled down the lines near the 29th Street exit where a construction project has been ongoing for several months.

Both east and westbound traffic was stalled for several minutes during the Monday morning commute. The interstate reopened at about 10 o’clock.

The Monday evening shutdown is scheduled for 6:30. The DOH says both east and westbound lanes will be closed.
