Jackson County crash claims life

KENNA, W.Va. — State Police in Jackson County said a heavy storm likely contributed to a deadly traffic accident Thursday afternoon.

Troopers said Kelsey Ray, 23, of Ripley, lost control of her car on Route 34 near Kenna Elementary School at around 4 p.m. The vehicle hydroplaned during the rainstorm, left the road and slammed into a tree.

Ray was pronounced dead at the scene.
