2 more plead guilty in Charleston robbery

CHARLESTON, W.Va. A second former University of Charleston basketball player and a third man have pleaded guilty to roles in a downtown Charleston robbery.

Former UC player Quincy Washington, 22, of Florence, S.C, pleaded guilty in court Friday to two counts of malicious wounding. Another suspect in the case, Terry Schmactenberger, 22, of Canton, Ohio, also pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree robbery.

Schmactenberger, Washington and former teammates Terrell Lee Lipkins, 20, and Robert Keith Dreher, 22, are charged in an attack and robbery of two men back in April at the intersection of Laidley Street and Virginia Street East.

Lipkins pleaded guilty to robbery earlier this week.

All three UC players were released from the basketball team after their arrests.

Washington is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 29, with Schmactenberger to be sentenced the following day.
