Man allegedly pointed gun at kids on playground

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Police in Mason County said Friday a man is in jail after pulling a gun on some kids playing on a schoolyard basketball court.

Charles Baird, 37, of Henderson, was arrested after the Wednesday incident and charged with five counts of wanton endangerment and having a gun on school property.

Police said the kids were playing on the courts outside Point Pleasant Intermediate School after school hours when Baird pointed the gun.

Baird is in the Western Regional Jail on $100,000.
