MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — It has been an emotional week for the picks panel, with all the arguing over who’s responsible for the government shutdown and whether the finale of “Breaking Bad” was pitch-perfect glorious or merely awesome. But even amid all the bickering, it was nice to see some humanity surface when everyone joined hands during the candlelight vigil for Lane Kiffin.

On now to the picks, where all eight panelists missed on WVU’s upset of Oklahoma State last week. With the Mountaineers facing a 27-point spread in Waco, there are no takers on Team Holgorsen this week either, though our consensus is the line is slightly bloated.

Darn, I missed the Buckwheat Festival again, oh well maybe next year. Wvu desperately needs a week off and will get one next week. But this is this week and that ain't good. We still be celebrating the biggest upset in college football circa 2013 and now we have to go to a place called Waco ? Wth? The timing couldn't be any worse as that might explain da 28 pts (and rising). RG3 vs Geno would have been nice (do the Jets play Wash this year?). I bet Wally and Wimpy picked WVU to win . Can you tell I'm writing this at 3am Eastern ? (At Casa D A mica , eating the best pizza in Morgantown, shameless plug ). Waiting on a Taxi, so I might still be here at Kickoff.

Wouldn't it be easier on everyone if UTSA played at Baylor , and WVU played at Marshall ? Just a thought . Back to reality , Baylor hasn't left Waco since the 2012 football season and has played 1 game in 27 days , while WVU is playing in its 6th consecutive week . Holgs hinted that "even the scout team is tired " (on his radio show , that nobody can find on the dial) .Its "Texas Tech" from a year ago , we will come out flat and it will be over by halftime . Baylor 49 WVU 20 . Pitty the fool who takes the bait ( ie 28 pts ) .

Yep looks like the panel of WV radio Corp. doesn't believe in the mountaineers. Could be the reason IMG is taking over.

I'm joking I don't get caught up in all that!!!

I'm Glad they picked against the eers, being a superstitious guy I hope they continue to do so all year just like last week.

  • Dave

I have the Mountaineers back in this one. I'm not falling for the Baylor hype. They've played noone. They are coming off their 2nd bye week of the year already. They have a new QB that hasn't had very many reps. He hasn't played a whole game yet and the games he was in were against a bunch of cupcakes. Never had much playing time behind Nick Florence and RGIII.

  • Let'sGoMtneers

Could be a good sign they all picked the Pokes last week. I'll bet some of 'em had their fingers crossed anyway. Hope the Bears are rusty from hibernating last week and don't put too much into their stats because of the competition they put 'em up on.

I think we're getting better each week and with our bye week up next it could give us incentive to give 110%. CT needs better protection and we need more caches like Jordan made. Several of our catches were awesome, but that lay out was just magnificent.

WVU 38---BB 35 JLamb's leg could be the difference.

LET'S GOOOOO Get Us Some Grizz!!!

  • Hop'sHip

I have had a premonition of an upset victory! I dreamed I saw the headline "WVU wins wacky game in Waco."

  • EB

I need to stop looking at this website. Wow! " Debbie Downer" MetroNews Sports. Have a Coke and a smile. ( you provide the cola) LOL Then put a smile on that face. WVU 31 Baylor 12

  • Tusker

It's called objective journalism.. Why would any of these journalists abandon their objective professional integrity to appease the peanut gallery?

I bet every single one of them wants to be wrong.

    GO MOUNTAINEERS

    • steve

Don't take the fun out of giving them a hard time just because you think they are being professionals. See how they messed up on OSU by being professionals; it takes heart man.

  • Big Larry

If Tricket starts and plays the entire game:

    Baylor 38 WVU 24

If Tricket plays half the game:

    Baylor 49 WVU 17

    If Tricket sits the Bench:

    Baylor 55 WVU 7

    Go Mountaineers!!!

  • Rock Solid

If the o line doesn't block, we won't run and if the o line doesn't bock better all we'll do is get Clint T killed. Yet worst of all Baylor has speed plus and we look like we are running in mud. Remember speed kills. I'm hoping for a miracle, but reality keeps rearing her ugly head.

  • Jase

Pathetic, everyone picked against wvu, and they call themselves west Virginians. They should be ashamed of themselves and go cover and work for Marshall

    • Mister Man

They're picking who they think will win. It's not a reflection of who they want to win.

  • tw eagle

well, I like the thinking of the omnipotent oracles . . .pick the opponent unanimously and the Mounties will pull out the game ... no on upset because WVU wins ... the odds makers have a better estimate of WVU injuries than I do ... who will be taking the snaps?? Mountaineers have a "need for speed" this week .. work hard, have fun and hope for a fair shake from the officiating crew ... weather channel shows the Waco temps dropping from 90's toady to the 70's by Saturday evening ... 20% precip plus 65% humidity ... better than the heat found in the oakie game , but a lot of "frictional heat"will be generated from the pace of play.

  • tony

once again we will see, I think we have a far greater chance to win if we get out of the first quarter..if we do and we are within a score at that point-i like our chances to win...

we need to be extremely physical this game
....I understand the panel but I disagree, I think we got in his head last year (Briles)-watch his video- and there may be fireworks when we match their intensity and don't back down. We probably have more guys back from last year than they do. we need to go down there and slap their asses around a bit.

  • Mike Evanoff

WVU will upset Baylor and move into the Top 25.

    • hailey

They are not moving into the top 25, but they are going to win....finally the offense line steps up and Sims rushes for atleast 175 yrds.

  • O'Really?

Keep in mind the entire 'panel' also picked the Cowboys over the Mountaineers last week. If that pattern holds true THIS week, WVU WILL upset the Bears!

    Thank you panel!
