CIRCLEVILLE, W.VA. — State Troopers have charged a Pendleton County man in the death of his father.

Troopers got a call Saturday about shots fired at a home in Circleville. When they arrived they found John Conway Smith, 83, dead of a shotgun wound. Troopers arrested his son, John William Smith, 54, of Circleville, who was at the home and charged him with murder.

Smith is in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail without bail.

    This man has been in and out of facilities all his adult life. He has made harrassing phone calls to people, he has terrorized people of the area where he lived. He should have been put away back 35 years ago. He was a menace to the area.

      Please Linda there are alot of family involved in this tragdy.. Mental illness is a very serious illness.. John William suffered with an illness i wish on nobody.. RIP Uncle Conway..
