Human remains found in Harrison County

HAYWOOD, W.Va. — An investigation is underway by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department after human remains were found along a trail Wednesday.

Deputies said neighborhood kids found the decomposed human remains while walking along a four-wheeler trail in Haywood.

Identification could not be made at the scene because deputies said the body was too badly decomposed.

The body is being transported to Charleston where a medical examiner will try to identify it through dental records.
