HUNTINGTON, W.Va.–¬†Marshall’s scheduled home game with Louisville next season has been pushed back a couple of years. ¬†Marshall announced Tuesday that it will play host to the Cardinals in in 2016.

The game was scheduled for Sept. 27, 2014 at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, but Louisville needed to accommodate scheduling requirements with its admission into the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Now, Louisville will make its return trip to Huntington on Sept. 24, 2016.

Marshall is now looking for a replacement game next season.

The Thundering Herd beat the Cardinals at Papa John’s Stadium 17-13 in 2011.

I had heard that Louisville was trying to push that game off. Read it in a Louisville article a month ago because of scheduling convenience with the conference move. Hate to hear that because next year was prime time for the Herd.

Convenient for UofL. Who would replace them this late in the scheduling process for next year? Hopefully not a 1-AA.

Louisville must be scared of the herd...

I heard Marshall called the Martinsburg Bulldogs but Martinsburg was afraid that playing a weak team like Marshall would hurt it's ratings.

Maybe WVU could drop Towson St. and then play Marshall. Naw, WVU afraid of Marshall.
