Bradshaw man arrested for allegedly downloading child erotica

BRADSHAW, W.Va. — A McDowell County man is behind bars for allegedly downloading child erotica in a public library.

Brian Keith Johnson, 38, was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with 30 counts of downloading child erotica.

West Virginia State Police said Johnson confessed to downloading at least 30 images on a Bradshaw Public Library computer.

Troopers said the images depicted child erotica, which is described as nude photos of girls aged 5-10 in various positions.

The photos are classified as “erotica” instead of “pornography” because none of the photos actually depicted intercourse.

The computer’s hard drive is currently being examined in Charleston to determine if other photos were downloaded.

Johnson was arraigned Tuesday night and is being held on $50,000 cash-only bond.

The investigation first started back in February. State Police said the investigation is ongoing and further charges could be filed in the case.
