HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. — A Clarksburg woman is heading to prison for driving under the influence with death and leaving the scene with death.
Harrison County Chief Judge James Matish sentenced Amber Dawn Smith, 30, to a maximum three to 15 years in prison Tuesday.
Smith ran over her boyfriend, Roscoe Jack Keener, with her car in August 2012 after they got into a fight. Keener was dragged several feet along Philippi Pike in Anmoore before Smith stopped. Keener died days later.
Smith will receive credit for the 14 months she already has served. In addition to her sentence, she was fined $4,000 on top of being ordered to pay around $20,000 total in restitution.
Smith will be unable to get her driver’s license until she fully pays the fines.
