Morrisey takes town halls to southern West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is turning his attention to southern West Virginia.  Morrisey will hold two town hall meetings for residents in McDowell, Wyoming and Mercer counties on Thursday.

“This is part of a process that we have,” Morrisey said of the ongoing town hall series that has already taken him to 17 other locations.  “We’re reaching out to a lot of the counties around the state to make sure that they know the role that the West Virginia AG’s Office can play to help the state’s economy.”

He said he is focused on finding ways to remove the obstacles that keep businesses from growing or locating in parts of the Mountain State.  “A lot of people don’t fully appreciate that the AG’s Office can be incredibly helpful in terms of improving the state’s economic climate,” said Morrisey.

Morrisey will be at the Wyoming County Courthouse in Pineville at 5 p.m. Thursday for a town hall meeting with citizens from McDowell County and Wyoming County.  He will then travel to Princeton for a 7:30 p.m. town hall meeting at the Mercer County Courthouse.

The events are open to the public.
