Above, Fred Persinger and Dave Jecklin recap some of the games in week nine of the season. A couple of the key games included Class AA No. 2 Bluefield beating Class AAA No. 8 Oak Hill, 41-15 and Class AA No. 13 Mingo Central beating Class AAA No. 13 Logan, 26-20.
Also, Class AAA No. 6 Wheeling Park became the first West Virginia team to beat Steubenville, Ohio since 1963. The Patriots on Friday defeated the Big Red 42-22. Steubenville had won 39 straight games against West Virginia opponents prior to Friday night.
No. 10 Cabell Midland picked up a pivotal 21-14 win over No. 12 Spring Valley, improving to 7-2 on the year. Spring Valley falls to 6-3.
