Deadly accidents reported throughout West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Several deadly accidents have happened on West Virginia’s roads in recent days.

Early Monday morning, State Police said a car wreck on Route 250 in Barbour County claimed two lives.  Those killed were Raele Marie Felton, seven weeks old, of Belington, and Travis Felton, 29, of Belington.

The two were passengers in a vehicle Janel Sturm, 27, was driving.  Troopers said she lost control of the vehicle near Diane’s Diner and it rolled.  Sturm survived the crash.

On Friday night in Pendleton County, State Police said a single car wreck on Smoke Hole Road claimed the life of a passenger, Jeffrey Swick, 52, of Petersburg.  Two others, including the driver, were seriously injured.

Troopers said alcohol may have been a factor in the Pendleton County crash.

In Martinsburg, a 29-year old man died in a motorcycle accident Friday night in the Pring Mills area.  Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department said the man, identified as Christopher Files of Martinsburg, ran off the road and into a boulder.

In Kanawha County, two cars collided in the Elkview area late Saturday night claiming the life of Candy Lachea Poling, 28, of Elkview.
