MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A week after five of eight panelists correctly picked K-State to defeat West Virginia, the prognostication pendulum has swung even further toward the opponent, with seven of our esteemed head shots taking Sammy Baugh’s alma mater to defeat the Mountaineers on Saturday.

Of course, nothing’s certain in the mercurial sport of college football—except that Nathan Scheelhaase’s dad will be in Happy Valley this weekend to watch the Illini play Penn State, because road games are all the poor guy has left. As we remind parents that university police wield way more authority than mall cops, here are this week’s picks:

  • Dave

    Great call Allan.
A great day to be a Mountaineer wherever you may be..!!!!!!!!

  • Pastor TD

Way 2 go Allan... A great win for the Mountaineers!

  • Steve From York

Josh, you should know better than betting on WV! I hope we win but I NEVER out $$ on it.

  • big tom

there is no way wvu wins this game, and i'm not a betting man ,, so I cross my fingers and hope I am wrong.

    • Hailey

Now will you go away? Great win , glad the team did not quit like you did

  • Josh

There's absolutely no way wvu loses this game. None. In fact, I'm putting money on it.

  • tw eagle

there hasn't been a game this year when the Mounties haven't given it their all . . .and I want to see the Mounties win against the frogs , but my gut says it will take a kidnapping (game officials) to affect the outcome in the Mounties favor . . .

    Let's Gooo Mountaineeerrsss ! ! !

  • Big WVU fan

I agree with Mr. Taylor on WVU win over TCU. I think the players are going to play their hearts out as they want to go bowling this year.

  • Country Roads

We can win IF; The offensive line travels to TCU with the attitude to knock TCU defenders on their backs five yard off the ball. They need to go down foaming from the mouth and Simms can carry the ball 25 times and any TCU linebacker that attempts to fill a gap can get a slober knocker! Then maybe the TCU defenders will soften a bit and we can pass and catch if the receivers have some stickum from back in the day. Crap suit me up! I am ready to help..... I am fired up to deck somebody.

    Have a nice day

  • Big Larry

It is a SAD day to be a Mountaineer Football fan...

    ...wherever you may be!

    • Big WVU fan

A if any team loses as many players to injury as WVU has they also would be playing bad. I will always be Mountaineer Fan no matter if they win or lose in any sports.

  • Billy

Looking in the ole crystal ball, it becomes clear that:
1- Holgy will drop the F-bomb sometime during the 3rd or 4th qtr and throw his headset to the ground.
2- WVU loses another game but never leads in this one.
3- Oliver Luck DOES NOT wear his Pee Wee Herman Halloween costume to his Texas AD interview.

  • big tom

I find it hard to believe that wvu can win this sat.

there are upsets, but I think this team has thrown in the towel and have absolutely no trust in dana.
besides dana, this is a good staff, I think we'll recruit better, but I don't know if the new AD will put up with it,

  • leroy jethro gibbs

I predict luck will go to texas and his last act before he leaves he will fire holgerson
    LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!
    WE WIN THIS ONE

    • Hop'sHip

Wouldn't it be better if he took Holgs with him? That way we wouldn't be left liable for the buy-out. He could name Holgs as Mack Brown's offensive coordinator and "successor head-coach-in-waiting."

  • eduardo

    Mr. Taylor,
What is your opinion of the way the WVU fan base has treated Coach Holgorsen?
    Thanks.

  • kensgirl

I'm afraid that I've had to pick against WVU the last three weeks in my personal pick 'ems (yahoo). It's painful to do it, but a point's a point when you're competing against other people. Unless it's three points and you're at 4th and 14 on the 26 yard line, anyway.

  • Hop'sHip

Let's hope Hoppy's "feelin" this week is worth the same as last week's.
