Human remains found in Logan County

HENSLAWSON, W.Va. — Human remains were found Sunday afternoon in a wooded area in Logan County.

Logan County deputies discovered the remains while responding to a call about an ATV that was found in the woods in the Henslawson area.

Investigators said they are unable to determine whether the body is male or female. The West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office is currently on scene trying to determine the victim’s identity.

Deputies do believe that the remains may be connected to a missing person named James Marcum, who disappeared in June.

The investigation is ongoing.
