Huntington police standoff ends peacefully

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A police standoff in Huntington ends peacefully with one person being arrested.

DeMarco Roosevelt Bradberry, 36, of Huntington, was arrested after he exited a home he was hiding in. He is charged with first degree robbery.

Police said Bradberry allegedly threatened a man who lives in the 500 block of 6th Street with a gun and forced him into his home and demanded money. Bradberry then fled from the home where the crime occurred to a nearby home on the same street.

The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

After a brief standoff, Bradberry along with seven other people who were hiding in the home, exited the residence one-by-one.

Police later recovered about $195 in cash nearby, along with a black airsoft pistol.

The seven other people were questioned by police, but not arrested.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
