MetroNews Power Rankings: Week 11

The MetroNews high school football power rankings are voted upon weekly by a panel of radio broadcasters and sports writers across West Virginia. The rankings include season record, total points and first-place votes in parenthesis.

Notes: Huntington escaped last week with a solid come-from-behind win over South Charleston after trailing for most of the game. The near-loss, though, was enough for Martinsburg to jump over the Highlanders.

Notes: Wheeling Park continues to dominate since its week seven loss to Morgantown. The Patriots jumped out to a 41-0 halftime lead over Parkersburg South last week and cruised to the 62-point win.

Notes: Capital won convincingly over Hurricane as the Cougars go for a 9-1 regular season record this week against 8-1 George Washington.

Notes: The Hawks picked up a marquee win, taking down rival Morgantown for the first time since 2007, 14-3. University has this week off, but the potential for a rematch against Morgantown in week one of the playoffs is a possibility.

Notes: Bridgeport has outscored its last three opponents 132-0. Overall, the Indians have won seven straight, taking all kinds of momentum into their regular season finale against Preston.

Notes: The biggest game in Class AA this week will be Bluefield’s home matchup against two-time defending state champion Wayne. Last year’s game between the two, however, proved to be all Wayne, 45-14.

Notes: Sissonville poured on the points last week in its win over Poca. Senior running back Dominic Walker tallied 146 yards and five touchdowns on 10 carries in the win.

Notes: The Blue Devils picked up another solid win over Class AA Ravenswood last week. A win over Doddridge County this week would lock down home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Notes: Wahama’s Kane Roush scored five touchdowns against Miller last week – a rushing score, two receiving touchdowns, an interception return for a score and punt return for six as well. The White Falcons face rival and winless Buffalo this week to close out the regular season.
4 VALLEY (FAYETTE) (9-0) 28

Notes: The Greyhounds will go for an unbeaten regular season this week in their finale against Gilmer County.
