Man dead in Wayne County shooting

FORT GAY, W.Va. — State Police have charged a Wayne County man in the shooting death of his neighbor.

Troopers said Ronnie Gunther, 56, and William Ward, 55, both of Fort Gay, were arguing in Ward’s driveway Wednesday night when Gunther shot Ward several times. Ward died at the scene.

Investigators said Gunther walked back to his house and was arrested a short time later. Troopers believe the men were involved in an ongoing dispute.
