CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Drivers could be facing slick road conditions for the Tuesday morning commute across West Virginia.
Rain was expected to turn to snow late Monday with dropping temperatures.
“With the cold temperatures, it’s going to start snowing, perhaps, just after midnight in the lowlands, starting from southeast Ohio and moving east across the West Virginia lowlands and then the mountains,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Andy Roche.
Roche said anywhere from one to two inches of snow could fall in West Virginia’s lower elevations while accumulations could be between four and six inches of snow on the highest peaks of the eastern mountains by Tuesday.
Much of the snow was expected to end by early Tuesday afternoon. The forecast said temperatures would begin to moderate by Thursday.
