Man who fired shots at Parkersburg home heading to prison

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Parkersburg felon who opened fire on a Parkersburg residence last year is heading to prison.

According to a release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin’s Office, Shaun Michael Linko, 26, was sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison Thursday before United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston.

Linko previously pleaded guilty in April to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The release said on September 19, 2012, Linko used an AK-47 semi-automatic rifle to fire several shots at a residence on Lynn Street.

After responding to a call of shots fired, police found multiple shell casings from a semi-automatic rifle in the street, along with apparent bullet holes in the exterior of the residence.

According to the release, policeĀ a short time later located Linko and a female passenger sitting in a vehicle parked at the 7th Street Park and Ride, located in close proximity to Lynn Street. Linko was arrested without incident.

Linko was previously convicted in March 2010 of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance in the Circuit Court of Wood County and was prohibited to have a firearm in his possession.
