Former Preston chiropractor facing sex abuse charges

KINGWOOD, W.Va. — A former chiropractor in Preston County is facing charges for allegedly trying to initiate a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old patient.

A Preston County grand jury has indicted Stephen Dwight Herto, 47, of Bruceton Mills, on 13 charges total, including two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or a person in a position of trust.

Herto is accused of contacting the girl through e-mails between October 2010 and February 2011 and requesting sex along with nude photos.

At one point, he allegedly grabbed the girl in his office and asked when the two were going to get together.
