Two teenagers killed in Harrison County accident identified

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. — Two teenagers were killed in a car wreck on Route 57 in Harrison County on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, Harrison County Sheriff Albert Marano identified the victims as Locia Wyant, 16, of Mount Clare, and Elizabeth Brannon, 18, of Clarksburg.  Wyant was a student at South Harrison High School.

Sheriff Marano said Wyant was driving a red Pontiac Grand Am and lost control of the vehicle while passing another vehicle heading west at about 3 p.m. Sunday.  After she lost control, her vehicle broadsided another vehicle going east.

The two passengers in the eastbound vehicle were taken by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.  Those two injured people were identified as Rodney Snider, 74, and Janice Campanaro, 73, both of Philippi.  Their conditions were not known on Monday.

Investigators said both Wyant and Brannon were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
