MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Check out the photo gallery from the West Virginia-Iowa State season finale at Mountaineer Field.
Gold ol Days
Luck is to blame for giving this head coach project such a large contract. A smart move would have been to extend the contract after seeing results. Pathetic!

I should say there is no where to go, but up. Even though it doesn't look like it is going to get any better any time soon.

I recall Rich Rod having a 3-8 season.

game changes on Golson gaffe . . .
reminiscent of the '93 teams Sugar Bowl game , Golsons big mouth and bad attitude
"woke up" a sleeping ISU team . . .it's really
stupid to disrespect a team anytime - but when you got a team going through the motions , DON'T DISTURB THEM
WVU vs Florida jan 94 Mountaineers are actually playing with a very good florida team , making another D stop , a Mountaineer I will not name , delivers a forearm shiv to the head of the florida ball carrier . . .along with the proscribed 15 yd
penalty , it also woke up the gators . . .never
caught another break in that game . . .

Well next year you can't say that it will be Stews recruits, this is the last of them. Now we will see if he is a head coach. For now, see you at the D-O-G T-R-A-C-K,,, Dude.

Y'all must be too young to remember Frank Cignetti when we had to use every trick in the book to beat Richmond 9-6 in 1976. THAT was pitiful. These days I just shrug my shoulders and remember who followed Cignetti and better times were comin'.

Great coaches don't grow on trees and only one team can win a championship. One team goes home happy, one sad. Same as the fan bases. Not now or ever will WVU have people lining up at the doorstep to coach here. Only reason we got a coach the caliber of Rich Rod is because he was a home grown boy and only reason we got DH was Luck...you know who the other "elite" names were? There were none. Be careful what you wish for.

The reason we ended up with Rich Rod is because no one else would hire him after he got Clempson and Tulane put on probation. Not that probation is anything new for Clempson. It's just a way of life for them, but that's for another day. Rich was spurned by such elite programs as Texas Tech (a very bad program at that time) and Tulane. We were the only place that would take a chance on him. And how did he repay his beloved alma mater? Well you know the rest of that story.
I doubt you'll find too many people in Michigan who will agree that he's an elite coach. They're still reeling from the effects of his short tenure there. It might be years before they'll ever be in contention for a NC. Check with his employer for the next year or two and see how he leaves there. Are they going to be happy with him never being more than just a middling program? Doubt it.

You guys are literally crazy. It would be an unmitigated financial disaster to fire DH. Buyout/AsstBuyouts would be over 20M. If we got it, why not put it in resources to make us more competitive. Every season comes down to minute plays in the midst of a game that decide whether you win or lose. The year we won the O Bowl 70-33, we should have lost 3 other BE games that season but we made the plays & others didn't. This season we could have easily won 7/8 games w a completely brand new offense and a porous QB situation. Bottom line DH isn't going anywhere so you might as well choose to support him & the program.
