Trial date change in Eddy case

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Monongalia County circuit judge has moved up the trial date for a Morgantown teenager charged with murder.

Judge Russell Clawges has reset the trial for Sheila Eddy for Jan. 28, 2014. It had been scheduled for Feb. 11, 2014.

Eddy, 18, was charged last year in the murder of Skylar Neese, 16, of Star City. Neese snuck out of her home in July 2012 and was later reported missing by her parents. Her remains were found in Greene County, Pennsylvania just north of Morgantown earlier this year.

Police charged Eddy and Rachel Shoaf, 18, with murder. Shoaf has  pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.

Judge Clawges will hear pretrial motions in the Eddy case Jan. 22. She remains in jail awaiting trial.
