Hunter finds body in Putnam County

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — Putnam County deputies believe a body found Friday is that of missing person Brian “Chris” Sexton.

The body was located by a hunter around 3:30 p.m. Friday in a wooded area.

Sexton was last seen Oct. 14 hanging out with friends near some power lines along Joyce Road in Scott Depot.

His shirt was later found behind the Save-A-Lot store along Teays Valley Road.

Family members have conducted numerous community searches since Sexton’s disappearance.

The body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to undergo an autopsy and for positive identification. A full report is expected Monday.

Deputies said the remains showed no signs of foul play.
