HALLTOWN, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate a large fire that happened Friday night in Jefferson County.
Jefferson County emergency personnel were dispatched to the flea market building on Halltown Road near U.S. Route 340 and found it full of flames.
Several volunteer fire departments battled the blaze for several hours. The building houses a flea market, a handful of businesses and a few apartments. Damage was extensive.
The only injury reported was that of a firefighter who suffered a medical problem.
The Fire Marshall’s Office will try to determine what started the fire.
