Henderson after season-high 19 points: ‘I was due for a big game’

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — After scoring a season-best 19 points, West Virginia guard Terry Henderson said he was anticipating a breakout performance.

Now he just hopes for more big outputs when the Mountaineers (8-5) begin Big 12 play next Saturday.

“I knew I was due for a big game,” the sophomore said after an 82-45 win over William & Mary on Sunday. “It felt good just breaking out and having a big game before conference play so I could get my confidence up.”

Henderson finished 6-of-12 from the floor and made all six free throws. Defensively, he registered a season-high three steals.
