Maryland fugitive arrested in Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — A man wanted for an attempted murder in Maryland is now awaiting extradition at the Southwestern Regional Jail following his arrest in Logan County on Saturday night.

State Police said they stopped John Monroe Madison II, 39, of Pasadena, Maryland, for speeding on Route 44 near Omar.

After the stop, officials found out he was a fugitive from justice.

Madison is wanted in Maryland on charges stemming from a stabbing.  Those charges include first degree attempted murder, first degree assault and second degree assault.
