One critically injured, another in custody for Logan shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Logan County man remained in critical condition Sunday at Charleston Area Medical Center’s General Hospital, a day after being shot twice during a fight with another man in Logan County.

State Police said Christopher Ellis, 38, was charged Saturday with malicious assault for allegedly shooting Ronnie May in the stomach and then beating him with the gun.

It happened at a home around 2 a.m. Saturday near Wilkinson.

Family members have said the two had been arguing for months about Ellis’ wife.

Ellis was being held Sunday in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
