CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Charleston man was in stable condition at Charleston Area Medical Center after he was shot in the chest early Sunday morning.

The shooting reportedly happened at his home on Ruffner Avenue on the city’s East Side. According to police, 55-year-old James Stewart allowed two men into his residence in order to purchase narcotics. That’s when one of the men pulled out a gun and attempted to rob Stewart, firing one shot.

Police have arrested two suspects: Isaiah White, 27 and Shawn Lane, 25, both of Charleston. They were charged with malicious wounding and first-degree robbery.

Stewart was taken to CAMC General where he underwent surgery.

I would have thought that they would have waited for the water to come on so they could have taken a bath first. I was always told to put on clean underwear before leaving home. You never know when you may need to go to the hospital or get arrested.
