Bluefield man pleads guilty to DUI death

PRINCETON, W.Va. – A Bluefield man, whose blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit when he crashed into another vehicle, killing one person, has pleaded guilty to DUI causing death.

The crash happened August 2012 when Eric Perdue crossed the center line on Route 123 near Brushfork and slammed into a car driven by Sherri Watkins. She was killed on impact. Two passengers in that car were injured.

Perdue’s blood alcohol level at the time was .379. The legal limit is .08. He will be sentenced March 17.
