HUNTINGTON, W.Va.— Thundering Herd tight end Gator Hoskins has been selected to play in the 2014 Senior Bowl.
Hoskins was a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award as a senior. Hoskins was Rakeem Cato’s go-to receiver in the redzone, hauling in 15 touchdowns. Hoskins was tied for third nationally in touchdown receptions and led all tight ends in the country.
A first-team All-Conference USA Selection, Hoskins finished his career with 28 touchdowns and 99 receptions. The only player in Herd history to top Hoskins’ 28.3 percent touchdown-catches ratio was Randy Moss (31.5 percent on 168 receptions, 53 touchdown catches). Hoskins’ 28 touchdown catches rank third in Herd history (Moss 53, Darius Watts 47).
This is Marshall’s third Senior Bowl invitation in as many years as Vinny Curry (Philadelphia Eagles) went to the 2012 Senior Bowl, while Aaron Dobson (New England Patriots) was named to last year’s game.
