One killed in Kanawha County wreck

CAMPBELLS CREEK, W.Va. — One person was killed in a wreck in Kanawha County on Friday afternoon.

It happened before 2 p.m. at an intersection on Campbells Creek Drive in Eastern Kanawha County.

Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said a woman was behind the wheel of a truck that ran off the road.  They said they believed she overcorrected and the vehicle flipped.  She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The victim was identified as Joanna Elam, 50, of Campbells Creek.

The investigation continued on Friday night.
