Jerod Green was in Monongalia County Circuit Court on Friday.

On Friday, Monongalia County Circuit Judge Russell Clawges agreed to delay the trial of Jerod Green, 37, to allow his new defense counsel time to adequately prepare for it.  His new trial date was scheduled for April 15.

Green faces charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and fleeing in Monongalia County for the police chase that lead to May’s death.  He was indicted in September.

In 2012, Green was convicted of third-degree murder in Greene County, Pa. for intentionally slamming into May’s cruiser, which was stopped at the time, during a pursuit on Interstate 79 that started in Monongalia County and was sentenced to serve between 25 and 50 years in prison.

Green is originally from Oklahoma and was in Morgantown to work at a natural drilling site.
