Morgantown senior running back Chazzy Thomas, the state’s Kennedy Award winner, will play football next season at Fairmont State.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown running back Chazzy Thomas will sign to play for Fairmont State at the D-II level. The 2013 Kennedy Award winner verbally committed to the Falcons and head coach Jason Woodman earlier this week.

Thomas finished this past season with 2,108 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns on 174 carries. He chose Fairmont State over the University of Charleston and a preferred walk-on opportunity with WVU.

    Where's Doc now???

  • Curious

Wow....He has D1 potential. How's his grades? What about prep school? D1-AA maybe? With what he has done for the Motown program surprised he wasn't showed more love! CMON Coach!?

His grades are excellent. The bottom line is schools stayed away from him once the ankle issues reared their ugly head again. He was getting plenty of looks from D-1 schools until the end of this season and was struggling to run or even walk. I feel for him...great kid...he deserves better but he is getting a full ride to get his education...you can't ask for sports to give you more opportunity than that.

What you can ask for is a chance to play at the level you desrve and quite frankly the coach should step up and help the kid in a case like this. If it wasn't for this kid the coach and his program would not be where it has been the past three years. Maybe coaches need to take some stock in where these kids end up for college afterall the coach contributed to the kids injuries by running him 40-50 times a game to get wins...even when it wasn't necessary.
