Philadelphia offensive lineman surprisingly joins WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Three-star offensive tackle Dontae Angus, who committed to Florida last July, shocked recruiting analysts by signing with West Virginia on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder from Martin Luther King High in Philadelphia told Rivals.com in December he “was shocked” by the firings of Gators offensive line coach Brent Pease and offensive line coach Tim Davis.

One source said Florida appeared to pull its offer after revamping the offensive staff.

Angus was recruited to West Virginia by Brian Mitchell and Ron Cook. The Mountaineers recently lot an offensive line commitment when Josh Krok flipped to Kentucky.

Rivals ranks Angus as the No. 25 prospect in Pennsylvania, while ESPN ranks him 10th in the state and 247Sports lists him 11th. Angus also held offers from Purdue, Rutgers and Temple.
