Girls basketball Power Index: Parkersburg South No. 1

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Parkersburg South is rated as the top team in the state in week two of the girls basketball MetroNews Power Index, released on Thursday. The Patriots entered Thursday with a 14-0 overall record.

University (12-2), which has two losses to Parkersburg South, comes in at No. 2, followed by Huntington (15-3) at No. 3 and Fairmont Senior (13-1) No. 4. The highest Class A team rated is St. Marys (15-0).

The MetroNews Power Index is a computer based formula that factors in strength of schedule. Records listed are for games played through Wednesday, February 5th.
