Former Concord police officer to be sentenced for sexual abuse

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — Sentencing was scheduled for April 15 for the former Concord University police officer who plead guilty this week to sexual abuse involving a minor.

Randy Keith Cordle, 47, was arrested in June 2012 on six separate charges, including one count of third degree sexual assault.

As part of his plea agreement, he plead guilty to a count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian and the five other charges were dismissed.

State Police have said none of the abuse happened at Concord.

Cordle faces up to 20 years in prison when he’s sentenced in Mercer County Circuit Court.
