Morgantown snaps Martinsburg’s streak, wins in OT

MORGANTOWN, W.Va — Morgantown avenged an early loss to No. 5 Martinsburg as the Mohigans rallied to beat the Bulldogs 79-68, Saturday night in overtime. Morgantown’s Steven Solomon tied the game up with a deep 3 at the top of the key with eight seconds left in regulation. When Martinsburg guard Elisha Freeman’s floater from the foul line rimmed out, the game went into an extra session tied at 60.

The Mohigans (6-7) dominated the overtime period, outscoring Martinsburg 19-8, including connecting on 12-out-of-16 from the charity stripe. Morgantown was led by Solomon who had 15 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, including going 8-of-10 from the line. Shaun Carden added 17 as well, while Scottie Core and C.J. King had 13 and 12 points respectively.
