Shuffling in top 10 of the MetroNews Power Index for week six

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — No. 1 Washington (15-0) and No. 2 South Charleston (15-1) kept their separation as the top two teams in the state in week six of the MetroNews Power Index for boys high school basketball.

Behind those two, however, there was some shifting in the rankings as Martinsburg (12-4) moves up from No. 5 to No. 3, despite a road loss to Morgantown. Huntington (14-2) moves up from No. 7 to No. 4 following three wins over the past week.

Robert C. Byrd (15-0) made a significant climb, moving from No. 9 to No. 5 after three more wins as well – the Flying Eagles remain the highest ranked team out of Class AA.

Multiple losses by Parkersburg South (13-4) and Musselman (11-4) dropped the Patriots from No. 3 to No. 8 and the Applemen from No. 4 to No. 11.

St. Joseph Central remains as the highest Class A team ranked, coming in at No. 22 overall.

The MetroNews Power Index is a computer based formula that factors in strength of schedule. Records listed are for games played through Tuesday, February 11th.
